Nurses
Practice nurses are qualified and registered nurses. They can help with health issues such as family planning, healthy living advice, blood pressure checks and dressings. The practice nurses run clinics for long-term health conditions such as asthma or diabetes, minor ailment clinics and carry out cervical smears.

Healthcare Assistants
Healthcare assistants support practice nurses with their daily work and carry out tasks such as phlebotomy (drawing blood), blood pressure measurement and new patient checks. They may act as a chaperone when a patient or doctor requests one.

Practice Management
The Practice Manager is responsible for the business and organisational aspects of the practice, such as making sure that the right systems are in place to provide a high quality of patient care. He also helps to oversee human resources, finance, patient safety, premises and equipment and information technology. He supports the GPs and other medical professionals with delivering patient services and helps to develop extended services to enhance patient care.

Reception
Receptionists provide an important link for patients with the practice and are your initial contact point for general enquiries. They can provide basic information on services and results and direct you to the right person depending on your health issue or query. Receptionists make most of the patient appointments with the GPs and nurses. They also perform other important tasks such as issuing repeat prescriptions and dealing with prescription enquiries, dealing with financial claims, dealing with patient records and carrying out searches and practice audits.
The team are Kelly, Nicola, Deb, Sarah, Helen, Nicky, Emma.

Dispensers
Dispensers check and give out prescription medications. They look after the stock we have in the dispensary and make sure that we keep our waiting times for receiving prescriptions to a minimum. They run a system of checks to make sure that the dispensed medication is correct and maintain an ongoing safety audit to ensure we retain the highest standards. They can also answer queries on the supply and availability of medicines, where this is within their competence and can respond to enquiries of a routine nature from patients and their representatives, referring queries to a nurse or doctor when necessary.
The dispensing team is made up of Pauline (senior dispenser), Sarah, Paula, Chloe, Beth, Cheryl, Andrea and Karen.
Community Midwives
The community midwives who come to the practice are employed by Harrogate District Foundation Trust. They have specific information on teenage antenatal care, parent education, home births, postnatal care in the community, early pregnancy assessment unit for any concerns as well as information about labour and giving birth in Harrogate. Some mothers choose to give birth in York hospital.
Community Nurses
The district nursing team are based in Knaresborough and are employed by Harrogate District Foundation Trust.
Health Visitors
Health visitors are registered nurses with specialised training in caring for babies, children, and pregnant women. They provide support and advice to families with children under five, focusing on mental, physical, and social wellbeing. Health visitors are employed by Harrogate District Foundation Trust. For children over five, the Healthy Child Team offers services to promote and protect the health and wellbeing of children and young people aged 5 to 19. They work with families to help children make informed health decisions and support them in transitioning into adulthood.
