How to Obtain Medications in an Emergency
In normal surgery hours, please contact the surgery. Out of hours, please contact the OOH doctor’s service, the on-call pharmacist, or local NHS walk-in centre. When away from home, a local GP practice will be able to help. Pharmacists are able to dispense some medications without a prescription, but will need your GP practice details.
Out-of-hours services are generally busy so please think carefully before asking to see a doctor and only do so if you genuinely cannot wait until the surgery re-opens.
In a genuine emergency you should call 999. Chest pains and / or shortness of breath constitute an emergency.
